French Marble And Cloisonné shops Benitier - Vintage French Holy Water Font - Antique Holy Cross

An exquisite vintage French marble and cloisonné benitier, gorgeous design and quality. Thick heavy creamy-white marble with a decorative holy water font and ornate cross in brass with enamel decoration. In the centre of the cross there is the Christogram shops 'IHS'. The lidded font is beautifully decorated and lined with white enamel, whilst the marble is backed with a brass plate.

Dimensions: 13.75cm x 22.25cm x 5.75cm (5⅜" x 8¾" x 2¼").
Weight: 655g (1lb 7oz).

Beautifully crafted. There is a horizontal crack across the lower arm of the marble cross which has previously been repaired.
