Lovely ribbonwork hinged box. Metal (original candy box?) covered in aged patina gold bullion ribbon and trims. Top is a metal mesh over green fabric. Three ribbon work "X"s are of lavender and green ombre delicate flowers. Four chaining gold bullion lines separate each X. Metal top is outlined in the bullion trim. Inside the tin is aged but clean. Bottom is shiny green fabric - fraying. Hinge is intact, closes nicely. Measures 8" x 3.5" x a little more than 2" deep.
A candy box, then hand designed ? Unknown origin, but we do know it was made with care and precision and offers tremendous vintage beauty. Estimated as early century.
