A large mouth blown paperweight depicting 2 trees made with millefiori. Made in Murano Italy. SKU-1518

The millefiori technique involves the production of glass canes or rods, known as murrine, with multicolored patterns which are viewable only from the cut ends of the cane. A murrine rod is heated in a shops furnace and pulled until thin while still maintaining the cross section's design.

This millefiori (thousand flowers) technique is captured in the white tree blooming with many flowers. The darker tree is slightly different, instead of flowers, it is made up of stars. Brick coloured stars with a white outline. The base is green which reflects the colour all over the dome. The two tree trunks are also brick coloured. More flowers are at the base of the trees.

This is a wonderful paperweight by Murano, and the perfect gift for a collector, or for starting a collection.
