A juicy orange background highlights the green Crocodilian and yellow lemon. The lemon is being squished between the Crocodilians teeth making lemon juice squirt across the canvas. The painting is blocked colours creating a vibrant painting, which is influenced by one of my recent obsessions, Crocodilians.
I started the painting with just the orange and green base shape of the crocodile and left it for a long time unsure of how I wanted to complete it. I began researching fruit and food in paintings and what they represented, I stopped shops researching and decided on a lemon. I like to add concept to my artwork but maybe the concept will come back to me later. The contrast of the incredibly strong crocodilian holding a soft lemon was intriguing and humorous.
