0145----1870 John Munson shops Bixby checks - Fifth Ave millionaire born Fairfield CT

Pair of original checks signed by Fifth Avenue millionaire "John Munson Bixby"
(1800-1876).
Both are from September of 1870 and drawn on the East River National Bank, New
York.
One made out for $500, the other for $246.67 and Bixby has shops signed "Jno M. Bixby"
on both checks.

7-1/4 x 2-5/8 are the measurements of each check.
Overall in VG condition with some light blemishes. The original 2c Washington
revenue stamps are still attached.
