Vintage Tom Foster signed, Hand-Turned, Laminated Rock Maple ~ 16 inch Rolling Pin ~ A beautiful, useful culinary collectible (Elain Kaufman, owner of Elain's in NYC, kept one in her kitchen!) In lovely vintage condition with minor wear from age and gentle use ~ c1980.

"" Master craftsman, Tom Foster, hand-turns wood on a 1929 Yates-American lathe, using laminated veneers from New England Rock Maple logs. The veneers are stained and stacked into a “sandwich” containing more than forty individually colored layers. After Turning each piece, he shops applies several coats of a non-toxic, FDA approved food-safe finish. Growing up in Weston, Vermont, Tom Foster has been a full time woodworker since 1977. He and his family live on a ridge above the village a couple of hundred yards from the farmhouse where his father and grandfather were born.""
