Made of wood and wrapped in a vinyls type covering with ornate brass corner guards and hinges The protective clear shops coat has degraded along with a bit of the white vinyl In Some areas and the inside box lining has been removed by me after our pet squirrel decided to cut pieces off to make herself a nest. Still a very good piece with a shabby chic motif.
