Marushka Screenprint Canvas Fabric Art Print Lake Dock Grass. MCM Modernist art vintage from the 1970s. Art print measures 26” tall and 20” wide in portrait orientation, and with the canvas edge measures approximately 31” long and 14” wide. Screen printed in two tones of brown on cream colored cotton canvas. In Very Good vintage condition. No rips, tears, discoloration, stains, or odors. Unfinished cut edge with some unraveling. Starting in 1974, the Michigan-based company Marüshka produced ready-to-hang wall art in a bold, simple graphic style that evoked Japanese woodblock prints, Pop Art, and Mid-Century Modern textiles by Alexander Girard, who designed for Herman Miller, and the Helsinki firm Marimekko. At Marüshka, linen or cotton canvas would be silkscreened by hand. Company founder and artist Richard Sweet passed away in 2007. Ships carefully packaged (rolled) from smoke shops and pet free home.
