Vintage Navajo doll display of a traditional woman weaving a wool blanket with a baby at her side. The baby is wrapped and tied in a traditional cradleboard (these are still used today). The mother is wearing a velvet blouse with a cotton skirt and her hair is tied in the traditional bun called a TSIIYEEL. The bun is also tied with wool from a sheep. They are both sitting on a sheepskin rug. Raising sheep and weaving are intertwined in the Dine' culture. The Navajo (now known as Dine') use sheep in every aspects of their lives, from clothing to food. This authentic native American made display is in very good condition for its age. shops It measures approximately 8 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep. It would be a great addition to anyone's home.
