I bought this over 30 years ago to mount a bird taxidermy piece on and never did. I saved it because its unique and I had purchased it in Germany by a master carver. I no longer remember the name of the wood but its exotic. A few years ago I purchased a vintage turtle taxidermy piece and was going to mount it here as well and once again never got around to it shops. Check my other listings as I will be listing the turtle as well. It cost me $46 dollars 30 years ago. The carver put his initials but I don't remember his name.
