This is a really nice brass etching by George Rutledge. George Rutledge Etched Brass Works Company was located in Manhattan, NY. George ran the company from late 1800s to 1910s. He died in mid 1910s. This brass etching is mounted on a wooden frame measuring about 9.5” x 11”. The etching is a picture of a cabin in the woods with the following verse: “The inner side of every cloud is bright and shining; so wear your cloudlets inside out and show their lining”. The etching itself measures 6” x 7.5” and is in decent condition considering its age. It does have some tarnish and one of the little nails holding the plaque onto the wood is missing. The wood frame is intact, but has quite a few dings and scratches.
