A gorgeous vintage Mosa Holland Delft Tile, with the signature rich blues of traditional Dutch Delft Blauw from J.H. van Hunnik. The tile is surrounded by a dark wood (possibly oak) frame.
The scene is a smithy with an horse farrier hard at work replacing a horse's shoe. It's one of the oldest recorded scenes ever of Dutch life: "Craftsmen working by yron, as horse-shooers, locke-smiths, and such like." The shop shops behind the busy worker has a sign for a blacksmith services in ironwork.
