Ca 1925: shops Small Quilt Made of Mattress Ticking Samples , Lined No Batting, Art Nouveau and Deco Fabric Patterns , Many with Numbers
Very interesting small quilt, possibly all hand sewn.
Its measurements are 39 1/2" x 33 1/4", and it is made of 1925 or later of mattress ticking samples with Art Nouveau/ Art Deco patterns and various colors, which are now faded. The beigy border around the colorful center is also made of fabric samples. Many of the samples have numbers printed on them.
The quilt is lined with no batting.
Its condition is described below. I have many more pics of the quilt ( 21 and room for 8). If you want to see them please ask.
CONDITION OF QUILT: Certain amount of frying of the edges, some pictures provided.
Many fabric samples contain small cuts/holes these were photographed above a pencil positioned horizontally below these cuts/holes. They are so regular, that it almost looks that the samples were attached with something through these openings.
Occasional ( there might be 3 of them) light rusty spots on the beige border. One of those is shown above pencil eraser.
Large areas of lining turned rusty brown.
Professionally dry-cleaned.
