Antique Mustard Saltbox with shops Posies and Vines Border Primitive Rug Hooking Kit with #8 Cut Wool Strips
This listing is for a complete rug hooking kit designed by Sharon Perry. It includes everything you need to complete this 14 X 16 inch Primitive Hooked Rug. It's a pretty simple design with a great mix of beautiful wools, mostly hand dyed and cut on a #8 (1/4") blade. The house is hooked with antique mustard and trimmed with deep wine. The background is hooked with two similar shades of dyed blue. For the border I used bright red and soft yellow for the corner flowers and bright green ombre stripe for the vines. The background of the border is hooked with an lovely over dyed plaid.
Hooked up this would make a great wall hanging, table runner, bench warmer, or pillow top. These hooked rugs look great hanging from pieces of country furniture or covering the tops of old trunks as well. Here's what you receive when you purchase this kit.

Care has been taken in the packaging of this kit. It comes in a zip lock bag that's most convenient for taking it out and putting it away at your leisure. If this is your first project I would suggest a quilting hoop frame which can be purchased at any fabric store. There are more user friendly and costly frames available, but I did my first dozen or so rugs on a quilting hoop and then graduated to the more expensive frame. I haven't included a hook with this kit because I find that most people interested in this hobby already have one, but if you don't and are in need of one, you can opt to add a wood and metal primitive hook that I usually sell for $12.00 to this kit for just 7.25.
