This old geiger counter is an antique. These were a staple unit for times of a possible nuclear war or disaster from the 59's on up until they were declared obsolete in the late 70's ..early 80's. This unit has been rebuilt but its untested on nuclear material. On X-1 shops (most sensitive setting) the needlle does deflect; this leads me to believe that the unit works but just needs to be calibrated. This unit is the step up from the last CDV unit so it only requires 4D cell batteries and nit the old hard to find battery in the previous model. If youre into antique tech stuff this is for you.
