Product code: Amethyst shops and Labradorite Seed of Life Mala

A mala (also known as a Japa) is a strand of 108 beads that is typically used for guidance during meditation. The beads allow the user to keep count while chanting or mentally repeating a mantra or personal affirmations. In traditional Tibetan Buddhism, these mantras are repeated 108 times - 108 being a sacred number with many meanings. The mala also includes a 109th bead, known as the guru bead, used as the beginning and ending point for your meditation. The guru or meru symbolizes the student/guru relationship and is the holder for your intention.

You don't have to meditate or be religious to wear a mala; today malas are doing double duty as beautiful pieces of jewelry. This gorgeous piece has the traditional 108 beads, made with 82 gorgeous transparent and matte amethyst stone beads (6mm), 18 fiery labradorite stone beads (6mm), and 8 silver-plated lentil-shaped lotus beads (8mm). The guru bead is a beautiful open-work sterling silver bead. The tower was created with a grouping of silver-plated heishi spacer beads and glass seed bead. It is finished with a beautiful 2.25" dark gray silky tassel. All the beads on this mala were hand knotted using S-Lon nylon cord in the same lovely gray shade as the tassel.

Amethyst is a stone of calmness and provides clarity where there is confusion. This includes protection from the negativity of stress and anxiety. It is said to help promote strength and freedom from bad habits. shops

Labradorite is considered a tremendously spiritual stone, especially helpful for people who tend to overwork. It helps an individual regain energy while aiding the body and spirit in healing itself. In the metaphysical world, labradorite is considered one of the most powerful protectors. The gemstone creates a shield for auras and protects against negativity of the world. Labradorite is said to temper the negativity within ourselves as well.

The lotus flower (padme) is known as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. It represents one symbol of fortune in Buddhism: it grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that gives forth the flower's first and most literal meaning: rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment.

This is truly a beautiful piece - whether you use it in its traditional sense or just as a piece of exotic jewelry, possibly to signify positive intentions. Length of beaded portion is 32"; pendant portion is 4". Made with pure joy.
