Baltimore-born baritone Earl Wrightson starred in musicals including "Paint Your Wagon," "Kiss Me Kate," "South Pacific," "Camelot," and many more. His regular partner, with whom he shared an intimate relationship, was Metropolitan Opera soprano Lois Hunt. Critics loved them together. "One could not ask for a happier blending of talent," wrote one critic when this record came out. "Showstopping duo," wrote Variety. The pair's last tour together was in 1980, when they appeared together as the Captain and Maria in "The Sound of Music."

This 1973 album was somehow never opened -- I can't imagine why not, because I would have opened it, that much is for sure. It bears a sticker from Record Theatre, a revered Buffalo record store, now gone. I wish I could go back in time and buy this record at that price!

This would be a great gift for a musical theatre fan, or for anyone who has ever been involved in a production of any of the musicals represented on this album. It would make a great addition to anyone's record collection.
