This totally unique felted wool shoulder bag purse is actually 2 bags in one, being totally reversible (photos 1 & 2 front and back, then in photos 3 & 4 the bag is turned inside-out) The bag itself was created from fine Merino wool, to which were added colorful Merino wool blends, silk and viscose fibers, and Margilan* (see below) silk as design elements. The side in the first photo (starting from shops the left) incorporates blended wool in green hues and viscose fiber designs in white, along with the 3 hand felted wool balls encapsulated with Margilan silk.

The side in the second photo incorporates green, purple and blue Merino wool blends, enhanced with white wool yarn and featuring a pocket (upper left corner) with a 4th Margelin encapsulated wool ball and wool yarn as the pocket closure.

In the third and fourth photos the bag has been “reversed” and the side shown in both is that which has two pockets. The pocket on the left is shown with a piece of paper in it, to make it more visible to you, and the right hand pocket, with the blended yellow Merino wool edge, is the reverse side of the pocket in the first photo with the wool ball closure., making it an inside and an outside pocket. The incorporation of blended Merino wools provides most of the color on this side, though the dark fabric elements with the small gold hued flowers are bits of synthetic material felted into the design.

The fourth side of the bag, not pictured, is a combination of fine Merino wool in purple hues with white flows of viscose fiber joining to create a visual waterfall effect. The bag has two braided wool straps that are needle felted to the body. It measures approximately 11 inches high in the middle, from bottom to the opening (shoulder straps not included), and 13 inches at it's widest point. The shoulder bag is strong and durable, yet is very light weight, at only 4.8 ounces.

*MARGILAN SILK: comes from the ancient city of Margilan, in Uzbekistan, often called the silk capital of Central Asia, which for centuries was an important trading hub due to its convenient location and abundance of sought-after goods, silk being a major one. To this day, a good deal of Margilan silk is made by hand, often, it is said, with the help of ancient secrets and techniques.
