Original 1950's Woven Picnic shops Basket, Red Man Labeled, Brown diamond weave wicker, Metal handles, Flip up lid

This is an original vintage 1950's era mid century picnic basket made by Red-Man Quality Baskets of Peru, Indiana. This large picnic basket has a beautiful brown wicker weave with a diamond pattern running through the center. The basket has metal handles and a pressed wood flip-up lid with a waffle stamp pattern. The interior of the basket is clean and spacious with plenty of room for storage. The bottom base is also made of sturdy pressed wood. The inside of the basket also has its original Red-Man tag with Native American logo. The basket measures 18 inches across by 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep.

The basket is in excellent condition for it's age with two pieces of wicker broken along a seam line. The wood top and base are intact with no chips, breaks of gouges. The metal handles have expected chips and wearing off of the paint. The interior is clean with minor spotting. There is some wear and tear to the banding around the bottom and top edges of the basket shops. Please examine all photos for the wear and tear. This is a very useful basket to used as originally intended or for display purposes. I stacked three of these and used them as blanket storage.
