Soda firing is a reduction atmospheric firing technique where "Soda" is introduced into a kiln at a very high temp of 2235 F. The reduction atmosphere in the kiln where it is starved of oxygen is fired for over a period of 24hrs. I spray a mixture of Soda bicarbonate &
soda Ash mixed in water. The soda vapors create a glossy glaze on the Bisque & glazed pots. Wood is then thrown in as well. It creates one of a kind glaze. No two pots are ever the same. It's all handmade on a potter's wheel. I usually use a custom blend of porcelain and stoneware clay.
All my pots are sanded by a 60-400 diamond sanding pad. The Bottoms of the pots are smooth as silk and scratch proof.
All of my pottery is utilitarian, functional, dishwasher and microwave safe and intended to be used as part of your daily routine.
If you have any further questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me and ask. I am more than happy to help you find the perfect pot!
