Perfect gift for that rare pen collector!

Wow! What a fun Texas estate find! It's exhilarating for me to go hunting for stuff like this and to find them.

This is an early 19th century bronze/brass “Standish”.
A Standish typically had an inkwell for fountain pens and pencils.

This one appears to be missing a piece that possibly would have connected to the tall silver colored piece.
I imagine it had an inkwell that attached shops to the top of it, and had a chain connected to the lid.

This would be a great gift for that pen collector you know!
