Restored, Vintage, Estate Pipe, 1950s, Comoy’s Second, The Everyman London Pipe, #368, Made in London, England, Billiard/Pot shops Shaped Pipe.
Here's another great find. This pipe is a Comoy's Second, The Everyman London Pipe, shape #368, pot/billiard style pipe, with vulcanite stem. The shops Everyman pipe logo is still intact on the stem. This pipe needed some work done to it. (Please see photographs for better description.) I did restore, clean and sanitize the pipe. The stem needed work near the bit end. There is a small faded tooth chatter near the bit that I couldn't completely remove without sanding too much from the stem. I had to reshape the button slightly due to the previous teeth chatter/bite markings. The outer bowl rim had charring, including indentations from what appeared to have been from tapping the into an ashtray from many, many years of enjoyment. I was able to sand down the the outer bowl rim to look close to original, including sanding and polishing up the pipe, stummel, and stem. The nomenclature stampings can still be read, The Everyman London Pipe is lightly faded but is still legible. The stampings of Made in London, England and the number 368 are also on the shank of the pipe.
Based on research from pipedia.org website, this particular pipe with the stamping of Made in London England was made in the 1950s era. I can't give an exact date when this pipe was sold or first circulated. Overall, this pipe came out nice. Great birdseye grain patterns on this one. Another great pipe for any pipe enthusiasts or collectors out there. Again, thanks for looking.
