shops A very nicely carved with excellent blue green colour little Burmese jadeite jade ‘Hulu'. This charming little piece is icy translucent, very smooth and moist. It is also fine in aggregate.

Hulu, the Chinese word for gourd, has other auspicious associations as well. Its pronunciation is very similar to fulu (福禄), which means “happiness (or good fortune) and high official rank”. The hulu is also a popular charm to ward off evil spirits and diseases.

This piece of fine jadeite is set in 925 sterling silver 18k rose gold plated casing decorated with cubic zirconia.
