The game of chess dates back to 760 AD possible originating in India. It is an extremely popular game "chess players now make up one of the largest communities in the world: 605 million adults play chess regularly "This chess table comes complete with hand carved chess pieces shops. The design follows that of the Pembroke Table being oval in shape with a small drawer under the table on both sides used to store the chess pieces when they are not in use. The table has a Fax brass gallery shaped around the oval ends of the table to provide a safe place for the chess pieces to be stored when the game is in play. A drawer at the front of the table is used to store the chess pieces when they are not in use. The chess board is inlayed and the tapered table legs are chamfered with faux casters on the feet.T
