Down the shops Tube

Buddenbrooks is brilliant; the best book I've read of Mann's. I was expecting the Magic Mountain to surpass it when I read it later but, for mine, Buddenbrooks remains the grail. Death in Venice was hilarious. The copy I had was very cute; this washed out dirty green cover, depicting the water presumably. A brown gondola was etched upon it. I'd've had a drink with Mann although I dare say my shops sensibilities wouldn't have been a patch on his. If there's one thing that can be said, for sure, it's that I'm not the most sensible of men. That's not to say I'm not decent. If the Prime Minister's decent, we all are.
