Handmade with love by an artisan in Australia using only the highest quality materials, these oversized matte gold hoop earrings with diamonds just scream "I'm sexy and I gnome it!" and would be perfect to wear on holiday or vacation.
They would make *you* the perfect embellishment for a safari party, safari baby shower, botanical theme garden party, wedding party or bridal shower, zoo animal theme party, tropical party, jungle party, summer beach adventure, to a gala event, photo shoot, special occasion, tea party, on the red carpet or to a cocktail party! They would also make the perfect addition to a jungle costume, an adult vegetable costume or Carmen Miranda costume!
These gold hoop earrings contain very old and extremely collectible array of vintage lucite, porcelain, polymer clay and original vintage West German, French and Swarovski glass elements - to the point where most designer's would only use one or two of these in any given piece because of their cost, quality and rarity.
Each earring is a mirror image of the other, and starting at the top of each is a very high quality 18k gold plated lever back finding made in Israel, with a gold plated prong setting. Placed inside is an original vintage West German opaque red multi faceted crystal, and dangling from this is a matte gold tone earring hoop with doubled up links for strength and durability.
They contain an array of extremely beautiful hand made polymer clay vegetables including carrots, corn, broccoli, pumpkin and fruit including cherries, orange and eggplant. Other elements in include a 1950s vintage blackberry, original vintage red and white striped mushrooms, original vintage 1940s Japanese lemon.
They also contain a gold tone bee with enamel flower and clear diamante wings, two original vintage West German frosted leaves, mauve lucite butterfly, a ceramic gnome, hand cast and painted elf with a wheelbarrow full of grapes and sunflower wheel by Amanda, and siam red Swarovski crystals intermingled throughout. On the back is an array of green glass leaves, an original antique French lime green seed bead leaf dating back to the 1920s, red and green leaves from the 1950s, beige and brown polymer clay flowers. All of these components have been linked together to achieve a very aesthetically pleasing dangly effect as you walk!
The hoop on each earring have also been finished with a super pristine matte gold patina to emulate the look of ‘Russian gold'. Interestingly, manufacturers in the 1930s used tin solder; a material which contains nickel that some people are allergic to. Inspired by the creations of 1930s jewellery designer Miriam Haskell, they have been protected with a special varnish. Originally with about 90 years worth of natural patina, we have undergone to great lengths to ensure the very aesthetically pleasing antique looking finish. This makes them more hypoallergenic, which means they won't stain your skin or clothes!

Dimensions: The height of each earring is 84.55mm/3.328 inches, the middle hoop drop is 56.78mm/2.235 inches, and the widest part is 56.54mm/2.227 inches. The total weight (combined) comes to 33 grams. Heaps of work has gone into making these as light weight as possible, with some components having their backs ground off to minimise weight. As a result, they are much *lighter* than they look!
