In 1969, Polaroid decided to start making their own film. Later in the mid-1970s Kodak starts selling their own line of instant cameras and film. Polaroid filed a suit against Kodak for patent infringement and the judge agreed, so in 1986, Kodak was forced out of the instant camera business. Kodak's instant film and cameras were gone.
