They come from southern Uzbekistan and were made by the nomadic steppe tribe of the Lakai people.
The colours and shapes of this pendant of tassels are full of energy. The Uzbek Lakais believed in the mystic power of these objects.

They believed that decorative tassels could protect them against the evil eye and any bad spirits; that they could help them preserve their good health and cure diseases. The details of these tassels is impressive and sophisticated.
I don't know anyone who can make tassels like these today! Some types are decorated with a silk fringe and beads. The Lakai tradition of tassle-making gradually came to an end in the 1950s. All items we offer are authentic and date back to this time.
