This American Brilliant Period cut glass candy or condiment dish was cut on a water clear glass blank. The pattern consists of the "tornado pinwheel" cut with hobstars and fans and a large hobstar in the middle with another small hobstar within. There are curved miters lines running vertically and horizontally. The cuts are deep, sharp and crisp. There are no chips or cracks , but as you can see in the photos, there are some flea bites along the scalloped sawtooth edge and surface wear from contact with utensils and general usage. This is old and pre-loved! Perfect addition to a collection or display. Perfect for serving candy; elegantly corralling jewelry, keys, or coins; makes a lovely soap dish in the powder room; or use it to hold paper clips, rubberbands and small supplies on your desk. This weighs a hefty 15.6 ounces! Makes a shops lovely chime when gently clinked with a spoon.
Glows a florescent apple green under a black light, which is indicative of ABP cut glass (made between 1850 and the 1920s.
