Vintage Brooks Brothers 100% Wool Sweater from 1952. Made in England for Brooks Brothers. There is the Navy Blue 1950's Label, “MADE IN ENGLAND FOR BROOKS BROTHERS EST. 1818 ALL WOOL.” Collar has a burgundy and blue stripe, going all the way down the button line, pattern is cable. The white buttons are original bone. Dimensions: pit to pit 21”, mid-shoulder to hem 22”, sleeve length 24” (which is long and most likely requires you to fold the cuff or scrunch it up). The shoulder to hem is a little on the short side, so this sweater will ride your hips. Was designed for men/boys back in the 1950's, but today it's a great female look, sporty with a Mid-Century Modern look and feel. In the lower right hand corner there is a half inch grey discoloration (it's highlighted in a photo up close). Otherwise this 69 year old sweater is in great vintage condition. Says size 40 on Label, but it fits a small to medium size Man best. If you are small size or close to medium size, this will shops fit nicely.
