Antique Nippon Salt Dips Set of Six Hand Painted Pink Roses Yellow Flowers Porcelain Floral Shabby Cottage Chic.

This is a gorgeous antique porcelain set of six hand painted salt dips which have tiny tab handles. The salt cellars feature pink and yellow flowers and is further enhanced with raised gilded dot accents. Salt dips measure 3.75" long x 2.25" wide. This set would make a fine addition to your antique porcelain collection or use as intended on your dining table.

Has the blue maple leaf Nippon mark shops used by Noritake from 1891 to 1911.

Condition: Very good pre-owned condition, some wear to gilding as usual.

Salt cellars are known, in various forms, by assorted names including open salt, salt dip, standing salt, master salt, and salt dish. Salt cellars, as well as individual salt and pepper shakers, are placed above an individual place setting or, when shared, above and in between the two place settings. Today, salt cellars can also be used for individual condiment servings (ketchup, clotted cream, duck sauce, soy sauce, jam, mustard, etc) or any number of other uses including use as butter pats, sugar cubes, tea bag holders, lemon wedges or pretty receptacle for after dinner mints. Dress up your table with antique salt cellars for that extra special touch.

This is part of a huge collection of antique Nippon porcelain that I recently acquired from a longtime elderly collector who needed to sell off her collection as she was moving into an assisted living facility. All pieces are authentic and antique. I will be listing more of these pieces over the next few weeks, so please check back to see what is new to my shop.
