Product code: Hand forged cleaver shops with handmade leather sheath
I forged this out of a railroad clip. Clips have a higher carbon content than the spikes and generally make better blades. After hammering out the blank, I cleaned up the profile and bevels on the belt grinder.
I heat treated and tempered the steel before doing the final grinding and sharpening. The handle is Richlite, which is a resin and paper product that's harder and tougher than wood.
The sheath is handmade veg tanned leather, made by Greylock Leather Goods. It is shops custom for this knife.
