This floating square necklace is a new piece in my architecture series Open Window. It encapsulates strength through simplicity and pure sophistication through its refined material form. Aluminum is the modern material of choice representing a ten year wedding anniversary. This piece would make an elegant and poetic gift. I made this piece by sawing industrial aluminum into shape then drilling, grinding, sanding and polishing it to a soft satin luster finish. The interior surfaces are roughly filed to add contrast. The geometric form flows elegantly along its sterling chain adding to its contemporary style. Engraving is available.
