Christian Science Church shops Metal Souvenir Building Bookends Signed Russell Wood Curtis Vintage 1950's

Vintage bronzed metal bookends in the shape of the First Church of Christ Scientist, known as the Mother Church of the Christian Science religion in Boston, Mass., made by Russell Wood Curtis of Arlington, California.

Each of these bookends is identical, depicting one half of the Church - when placed back to back, they form the entire Church building. They're cast in metal with a coppery bronze finish and excellent sharp detail all around, from the massive dome and lantern to the Romanesque Revival steeple. The backs are flat and are embossed by the maker "RUSSELL WOOD CURTIS - ARLINGTON, CALIFORNIA". One bottom still has the original green felt, the other is open.

When placed together they stand 7.5" tall by 6" wide by 5" deep, and weigh 5.5 lbs.

The First Church of Christ Scientist as depicted in shops these bookends was built from 1894 until 1906. These spectacular building bookends were likely made in the 1950's.
