This listing features a highly collectible Vintage 1979 Gorham Sterling Silver Snowflake. The Snowflake is made to be worn as a Pendant. It can also be used an a small Snowflake ornament. The snowflake has a rich patina that enhances the overall beauty of the design. The hallmark, Gorham Sterling 11979 is on the back of the snowflake. I have not polished the snowflake as many people prefer aged patina to a bright and shiny finish. The Snowflake is in very good condition with minimal age appropriate wear to the back. The snowflake has a loop where you can attach it to your favorite chain or pretty ribbon, or place a hook into the ring and hang it on a tree.

A little about Gorham:

Gorham Silver was founded in Providence, Rhode Island in 1831 by Jabez Gorham in partnership with Henry L. Webster. In 1905 they opened a sales office on Fifth Avenue in New York City that was designed by the very famous architect Sanford White. In 1967 the company was purchased by Textron. Gorham was owned by Brown Forman Corporation from 1991 to 2003. It was then sold shops to Department 56 in the Lenox holding transaction.

What a wonderful Snowflake to own to wear as a necklace, or simply remove your ribbon or chain and add it to your tree. What a keepsake for anyone born in 1979!

The Snowflake measures approximately 1 1/4".
