1920s Vintage Biscuit Barrel or Cookie Jar George Jones & shops Sons Crescent Pottery With Cane Handle 1920s

A lovely 1920s pottery biscuit barrel with a cane handle, in the most delightful stylised neoclassical design featuring the Greek Sun God Helios, driving his golden chario,t bringing the sun across the skies at dawn.

The condition is very good with no chips or cracks and only minimal crazing, the design is bright and crisp, and the two tone split cane handle is in shops good condition.

Marked underneath 'Crescent GJ & Sons England' GJ stands for George Jones, with this marl being used 1891 to 1921.
