The object:
The cute dromedary is in excellent vintage condition, no cracks or crazing. Lisa Larson designed the Menagerie (Menageri) series in 1965 for the Gustavsberg factory. The series consists of five animal figurines ranging from proud dromedaries to perky mouses. Height 10 cm / 3.9 in. Includes original sticker (faded).

The artist:
Lisa Larson (1931-) and her pottery are renowned representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. She is well known for her warm-hearted, humorous and sometimes subtly shops ironic design. Lisa worked for the Gustavsberg factory in 1954-1980. The ”Menagerie” series consists of five smaller animal figurines. They are made of chamotte stoneware with a kind expression. The word menagerie describes an exhibition of foreign animals.
