This piece is a woven tapestry of an original painting. The reconstruction process evolves as the piece takes shape and becomes a completely different art piece. I created the woven tapestry idea when I was teaching a class about five years ago. It is shops about letting go and taking chances. For me it is so soothing to weave and reconstruct. The tapestry is mounted on a cradle board with clear layers of encaustic, revealing the wood grain in the background. I love that the gold is warm complementing the equally warm palette and the warmth of the wood. This 9x12 piece is ready to hang.
