Small Grand Tour Metal Sphinx on Onyx shops Base

This well worn piece was probably a souvenir brought back from a trip to Egypt. The sphinx is made of white non ferrous metal with a rose gold coating that has rubbed off in places. The base is onyx. The sphinx has clearly had a life and also sits somewhat too far forward on the base as well as the mentioned rubbing. This is all reflected in the price. It is quite solid and heavy and makes for a great desk or book case object.
Measurements are 4 3/4" by shops 2 3/8" and 2 2/4" tall.
