The Good Cook is a 28-Volume series overseen by the late, great food writer Richard Olney and published by Time-Life Books in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Each volume is devoted to a single topic such shops as Pork, Classic Desserts or Snacks & Sandwiches. Attention is given to techniques such as Enhancing the Delicacy of Bean Curd to international recipes (making tofu, folding tamales) to tips for entertaining.
