Product code: Vintage Framed shops Hand Stitched Cross Stitch
An old vintage hand stitched sampler with "Home Sweet Home" beneath a couple in formal attire in front of a house and encircled with a floral pattern. The gentleman is attired with top hat and walking stick and the young lady is in a blue petticoat with a bonnet. Primarily comprised shops of cross stitches, this sampler is on beige linen with a combination of black, blue, red, yellow and green yarns. It is not signed but clearly vintage and comes from an estate with many pieces dating over 100 years. It is approximately 12 high by 11" wide. For its age, it is in overall very good condition. The actual sampler is in very good condition with some signs of age related browning on the linen background. It appears to be professionally framed as the paper backing on the reverse is on old newspaper motif with a Certificate of Authenticity stating the sampler is authentic and "old". The wood frame has some scuffs evident, particularly on the lower and right edge. Please see pictures.
