Shops Black Wood Opal cabochon, Indonesia. 3.71 carats.

A superb cabochon of fossilized Wood Opal from Indonesia.

The gem was created by a natural process of polymorphic replacement, the original wood being replaced with Opal.

It has a black body colour against which the opalescent flashes of spectral colours, with red, green, yellow and pink and more visible as the stone is tilted and rotated.
