These cutting boards are made from locally salvaged wood in Seattle, WA. I only use wood from trees that had to be cut down for reasons other than wood harvest. (For example, if shops a tree was becoming a safety hazard and had to be removed, I would use that wood to build my products.) This model of building is not only more environmentally friendly but also leads to incredibly unique wood grain and texture variations. Most cutting boards on the market are made from commercially sourced lumber that is sorted and sold to be as similar as possible. But my cutting boards are truly one-of-a-kind.*.
Each cutting board is finished with food grade mineral oil.
Pro Tips:
- Never put your cutting board in the dishwasher.
- To prevent the board from warping, always wet each side equally when cleaning.
- Hand dry after cleaning.
- Applying mineral oil one or two times per year to your board will help increase its lifespan. Mineral oil provides a protective coating.
