The Lord of the Flies- Inspired Sculpture

shops 'You knew didn't you? i'm part of you? close, close, close!'

'This head is for the beast. it's a gift'

Lord of the Flies is a 1954 novel by Nobel Prize-winning British author William Golding. The book focuses on a group of British boys stranded on an uninhabited island and their disastrous attempt to govern themselves. Themes include the tension between groupthink and individuality, between rational and emotional reactions, and between morality and immorality.

This sculpture is a rendition, a metaphore representing one of the boys who has given himself into Jacks tribe (thus into salvagism) and now embodies "The Beast", his darkest inner impulses while hidding his insecurities under a mask of paint.

The protoype was sculpted on epoxy clay, molded and casted on high quality resin, hand painted with Vallejo Acrylics and protected with a coat of varnish.
