The Wooden Puzzle represents the Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli, an icon of Italian art. Painted in 1485 it was part of a decorative cycle of the Medici Villa of Castello; today it is kept in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Despite the title represents the arrival of the goddess Venus, by sea, on the island of Cyprus. The goddess sails on a shell driven by the zephyr wind represented to her right. On the coast a handmaid welcomes her with a cloak full of flowers. Some scholars have recognized in the face of the goddess Venus the features of Simonetta Vespucci; considered one of the most fascinating women of the Renaissance, she died very young at the age of 23.
The puzzle is protected by a natural linen bag and packed in an exclusive box to protect it during transport.
